What’s a storykindler?

Eleanor Roosevelt said we need people who have come alive – people who are awake, vivid, on fire. So this is a question I often ask:

I help people and organizations find and ignite their core story. This spark is then refined, through a collaborative process, into language that touches and motivates others.

I focus on the written word – crafting and polishing ideas for beauty, insight, and impact.

I believe that justice and the human spirit are deeply connected. Justice allows us to see with a pure heart, to make changes in ourselves and in society based on knowledge of our shared humanity – our diverse humanness – not on distortions, stereotypes, and fear.

Some of the justice-based methods I use are:

  • Deep listening
  • Consultation and dialogue
  • Prompt and supportive communications
  • Embedded research and fieldwork
  • Content creation
  • Appreciative Inquiry (AI)
  • Community engagement
  • Collaborative art spaces
  • Custom workshops and seminars
  • Writing coaching and accompaniment
  • Manuscript revision
  • Public speaking and group facilitation

This is sacred and scary work. Trust is foundational. And adventure. Because the story will take us where it will take us – out into the world, and deep into our own shadows and light.

If you are a storykindler or want to work with one, please contact me. I’d love to hear from you.
